Gavin Friday spent all of last week in a studio in London to oversee the digital restoration and remastering of the Virgin Prunes back catalogue. The CDs will be re-released on Mute Records in September this year.
Having spent more than a month on remasting, Friday says: “It all sounds surprisingly great.”
Starting with ‘If I Die, I Die’, six CDs have now been through the process. Work on the 7th and final CD will continue two weeks from now. The artwork for the CDs, different from the original vinyl releases, is nearly finished as well.
