Many of these titles come from bootleg tape covers or are simply guesses. If you think you know better, please let me know.

If anyone knows of any other unreleased Virgin Prunes songs, also please let me know. I’m sure that this list is only the tip of the iceberg.

  • Boy Girl was an early song/performance piece - U2 recorded a complementary song with the same title.
  • Sad was an early song/performance piece - U2 recorded a complementary song with the same title.
  • Exit is mentioned in Bill Graham’s U2, Another Time, Another Place book.
  • We’re Still Together was performed at Futurama in 1981.
  • I’m So So Tired was performed at Futurama in 1981.
  • I Never Thought I Could was performed during 1981.
  • What has become of our baby is a performance piece mentioned in an interview (somewhere).
  • Pop Song was recorded for an RTE radio session in 1981.
  • Trust was recorded for an RTE radio session in 1981.
  • J.R. was recorded for an RTE radio session in 1981.
  • Sob was performed live in 1981. “Honest Dave” in Ireland’s Vox magazine (issue 6) reported it as “a continuous tape on which a TV broadcaster gives a running commentary on the Ronald Reagan shooting. Inflectuous repetitive lines like ‘here it is once again’ keep cropping up and help to create a visual image of typical American panic (dramatic) when a head of state has been shot.”
  • Apologia was recorded for an RTE radio session in 1982 (it’s not the Gavin Friday song).
  • We Sing a Song was recorded for an RTE radio session in 1982.
  • Gaga was a performance piece from approximately 1982.
  • Madman (or possibly Mad Bob) was recorded for the Sons Find Devils album.
  • I Know Your Secret (guessed title) was an early version of Love Lasts Forever performed in April 1983.
  • Hurt the One I Love was performed in 1983.
  • Song for the Heartless was recorded for the Sons Find Devils album.
  • My Dependence on You was a song performed live around 1984-85.
  • She was a song performed live around 1984-85.
  • The Boy Who Fooled the World was a song performed live around 1984-85.
  • The Love Hitler (or possibly The Night of the Hunter) was a song performed live around 1985-86.
